This is a full training in Lively Letters and Sight Words You Can See, presented by the authors, Nancy Telian, M.S., CCC-SLP, and Penny Castagnozzi. If you are signing up more than one person, please contact us at email@example.com and give us the names and email addresses of all attending. This webinar will not be recorded. After adding to cart and submitting order, you will receive, within a week of the webinar date, an email from Reading with TLC with the "Final Registration Step," then log-in links, directions, and handouts for the webinar. BASIC INFO: Boost your students' literacy skills in a way that's as powerful as it is fun! The Reading with TLC Condensed Full Training is a condensed (6.5 hours) version of the original 10 hour full training. The TLC approach is comprised of the Lively Letters program, created in 1990 by speech language pathologist, Nancy Telian, MS, CCC-SLP, and Sight Words You Can See, created by Penny Castagnozzi. These presenters will walk you through the program strategies with direct instruction, songs and videos, and opportunities for hands-on practice. Lively Letters (training phonemic awareness, speech production, and phonics) and Sight Words You Can See (training phonetically irregular sight words) have been shown to quickly close achievement gaps for the development of reading and spelling. A substantial handout and some sample Lively Letters pictures will be provided for the practice sessions that take place during the webinar. Besides the direct instruction there will be hands-on practice, videos, music, and ample opportunities to ask questions. Delivered in an engaging, easy-going manner with a sense of humor, this training is enjoyed by all participants and the webinar has received a 100% recommendation rating from past participants. The training is geared for those who work with general ed. students in grades PreK – 2, as well as struggling students of all ages, including teens and adults. Practical, research-based strategies will be offered for students of all ages. Our research rationale and clinical study results are posted on our website under "research." - Program Info:Lively Letters uses mouth cues, hand/body cues, comical stories, and engaging music to simultaneously train letter sounds, speech production, and phonics, as well as the phonemic awareness skills of sound blending, segmenting, and manipulation. Students are given effective strategies to improve their ability to phonetically read and spell words from CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) to multisyllable word length. Sight Words You Can See uses imagery, comical stories, and mnemonic cues to train those sight words that do not follow the rules of phonics or that have infrequent spelling patterns. Both approaches are child and teacher-friendly, flexibly integrate with other programs, and are easy to implement. For more information please review our website. - MATERIALS: No materials purchase is required to attend, and benefit from, the Lively Letters training, but in order to implement the program, it would be necessary to purchase at least the Lively Letters Basic Set, which includes the boxed set of Lively Letters cards and the instruction manual. To order the Lively Letters Basic Set, and any other supplemental products you may wish to purchase, such as the character songs or reproducible workbook, please click on "Products” to view the various program materials and discounted bundles. -CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE: After actively participating in this webinar and completing a brief assessment, attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for 6.5 credit hours. The TLC certificates of attendance may be applied toward continuing ed. hours and should be passed along to PDP providers to be logged as professional development points. For speech language pathologists, the ASHA Verification Form listing 6.5 Certification Maintenance Hours (CMHs) will be provided. Although these are not the ASHA CEUs that would go into your ASHA registry, these CMHs are accepted by ASHA towards the 30 hours needed for recertification. SLPs should simply log these hours and hold onto this ASHA Verification Form to be passed in only if audited by ASHA. (See ASHA's website for more information on CMHs).
